Threat call to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao created flutter in the district TRS circles. The police have tightened security of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and also at the marriage hall and its surroundings in Metpalli on Wednesday, following a death threat to KCR.
Korutla MLA Kalvakuntla Vidyasagar Rao on Tuesday received a threat call from an unidentified person threatening to kill Chief Minister KCR, who, along with his wife, attending the marriage of Peddapalli MP Balka Suman’s sister on Wednesday. The miscreant threatened to kill KCR during his Karimnagar visit and the police identified it as an internet call.
While the Intelligence Bureau have been informed, the police are further probing the matter and tightened the security of the Chief Minister following the death threat. Meanwhile, rumours are making rounds that political rivalry as the reason behind the threat call. There were groups in Metpalli TRS and Suman’s rival group might have made call to cancel KCR’s tour to Metpalli, it was alleged.
A TRS leader, on condition of anonymity, said that the rival groups might have made the threatening call fearing the popularity and influence of Suman may increase with the CM’s visit. When this correspondent sought his clarification, District Superintendent of Police D Joel Davis said they were trying to trace the caller.
